The contract, in words you use.

### What you agree to.
* You agree that your contributions (defined in Source [2] as "Content you add or changes you make to any Wikimedia Sites") are licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 and GFDL, unless a specific Project (defined in Source [1] as "multilingual wiki projects and their editions") edition or feature requires a different license (Section 7.1, [1]).
* You agree to waive any Sui Generis Database Rights you own under CC BY-SA 4.0 for text you contribute (Section 7.1, [1]).
* You agree to be attributed as an author through a hyperlink or URL to the page, a stable online copy link, or a list of authors (Section 7.2, [1]).
* You agree that you cannot unilaterally revoke or invalidate any license you grant for text or media, even if you stop using the services (Section 7.5, [1]).
* You agree to follow the Universal Code of Conduct ("UCoC") and applicable community policies across all Projects (Overview, Section 4, [1]).
* You agree not to engage in harassment, threats, stalking, spamming, vandalism, or posting content intended to cause serious harm (Section 4, [1]).
* You agree not to infringe privacy rights, solicit personal information for harassment, exploitation, or commercial use, or solicit personal information from minors for illegal purposes (Section 4, [1]).
* You agree not to post libel or defamation under U.S. law, deceive others, impersonate others, or commit fraud (Section 4, [1]).
* You agree not to infringe copyrights, trademarks, patents, or other proprietary rights (Section 4, [1]).
* You agree not to post child pornography, obscene material unlawful under applicable law, or use the services in a manner inconsistent with applicable law (Section 4, [1]).
* You agree not to distribute malware or viruses, engage in disruptive automated uses, place undue burden on APIs, inundate sites with traffic, or access non-public technical systems without authorization (Section 4, [1]).
* You agree to disclose your employer, client, intended beneficiary, and affiliation for any edit for which you receive or expect compensation (Section 4, [1]).
* You agree to submit to binding "Marketing Company Mediation" for violations related to undisclosed paid editing (Section 4, [1]).
* You agree to safeguard your password and security credentials (Section 5, [1]).
* You agree to abide by mandatory official policies issued by the Board of Trustees (Section 11, [1]).
* You agree to abide by API policies when using APIs (Section 12, [1]).
* You agree to file any legal claims exclusively in state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California (Section 14, [1]).
* You agree to file any legal claim against the Foundation within one (1) year after pertinent facts could have been discovered, or be forever barred (Section 14, [1]).

### What data is taken.
* Personal Information (defined in Source [2] as "Information you provide us or information we collect that relates to you or could be used to personally identify you") taken includes real name, address, phone number, email address, password, government ID number, IP address, user-agent information, payment account number, and associated sensitive data (Definitions, [2]).
* Whatever public contributions you make create a permanent, public record showing your username (if logged into a standard account) or temporary account username (if not logged in) and the time of the edit (Your Public Contributions, [2]).
* When you create a standard account (defined in Source [2] as "An account you can sign up for to browse or edit the Wikimedia Sites"), the system collects a username, password, and IP address, while email address and demographic information like age or gender are optional (Account Information & Registration, [2]).
* If you edit without logging into a standard account, your edits are publicly attributed to an automatically generated temporary account (defined in Source [2] as "An automatically generated account and identifier used to attribute edits made when you are not logged into a standard account") associated with your browser, and your IP address is recorded (Account Information & Registration, [2]).
* Location data is collected via GPS if you consent, extracted from photo/video metadata by default upon upload, and inferred from your IP address automatically when you visit (Location Information, [2]).
* System details are automatically collected, including device type, device identification numbers, browser type and version, browser language preference, operating system type and version, internet service provider or mobile carrier name, referring website, requested pages, and date and time of each request (Information We Receive Automatically, [2]).
* Information is actively collected using cookies, JavaScript, tracking pixels, and local storage technologies (Information We Collect, [2]).

### What the company may change on its own.
* The company "reserve[s] the right to suspend or end the services at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice" (Section 13, [1]).
* The company "retain[s] the right to create limits on use and storage at our sole discretion at any time with or without notice" (Section 15, [1]).
* The company can refuse, revert, disable, or restrict access to contributions, ban users from editing, block user accounts, or take legal action against users who violate the Terms of Use (Section 10, [1]).
* The company reserves the right to exercise enforcement discretion and update its Office Action Policy within at most one year when new enforcement situations arise (Section 4, [1]).
* The company can modify the Terms of Use after providing notice and a comment period of at least 30 days for substantial changes, or at least 3 days for administrative or legal changes (Section 17, [1]).
* The company can modify the Privacy Policy after providing a 30-day public comment period for substantial changes, or at least 3 days' notice when possible for minor changes (Changes to This Privacy Policy, [2]).
* The company can suspend handling of reports, correspondence, or appeal requests from users made in bad faith, repetitively, or abusively, and can block email addresses on its systems (Section 10, [1]).

### What happens in a dispute.
* For violations regarding undisclosed paid editing, you must submit to binding "Marketing Company Mediation" where unresolved items after a half or full day session are decided by a mediator in a legally binding decision governed by the Federal Arbitration Act (Section 4, Section 14, [1]).
* The prevailing party in a Marketing Company Mediation is entitled to recover its attorneys' fees and costs (Section 14, [1]).
* You must resolve any legal claim against the Foundation exclusively in a state or federal court located in San Francisco County, California under California and U.S. law (Section 14, [1]).
* If local courts in your place of residence do not accept California choice of forum or law clauses, you may refer disputes to local courts according to local laws (Section 14, [1]).
* Any legal claim arising out of or related to the services or Terms of Use must be filed within one (1) year after the underlying facts could have been discovered with reasonable diligence, or be forever barred (Section 14, [1]).
* You release the Foundation, its directors, officers, employees, and agents from any claims and damages arising out of claims you have against third parties (Section 15, [1]).
* Total damages liability of the Foundation to you is capped at a maximum of one thousand U.S. dollars (US$1,000.00) in aggregate (Section 16, [1]).
* You agree to comply with final dispute resolution decisions made by community bodies like arbitration committees (Section 10, [1]).

### The parts most people would care about.
* **Arbitration or binding mediation for undisclosed paid editing:** "for violations of this section related to undisclosed paid editing, you agree to submit to binding "Med-Arb" (a "Marketing Company Mediation") as described in section 14 of these Terms of Use." (Section 4, [1]) and "Marketing Company Mediations are binding mediations where, at the end of either a half or full day session, any disputed items that remain unresolved will be decided by the mediator in a legally binding decision." (Section 14, [1]).
* **One-sided right to terminate services or change terms later:** "regardless of any other provision in these Terms of Use, we reserve the right to suspend or end the services at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice." (Section 13, [1]). "Your continued use of our services after the new Terms of Use become official following the notice and review period constitutes an acceptance of these Terms of Use on your part." * **Data kept after you close the account or stop using:** "If your account or access is blocked or otherwise terminated for any reason, your public contributions and a record of your activities on or in relation to the Projects (including any correspondence you have sent us) will be unaffected" (Section 13, [1]).
